Exploring the Appalachian Trail
Exploring the Appalachian Trail (Stackpole Books, a trade imprint of Rowman and Littlefield). A five-volume series of hikers’ guidebooks. Third edition coming 2021-2022. Covering all 2,190 of the approximately 2,200 miles, through 11 states, of America’s oldest, most famous footpath through the forest and mountains. Print and ebook editions include hike narratives, with natural and cultural history; hiker how-to; elevation grids; topographic maps; and north-south plus south-north itineraries. I wrote the Southern New England (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont) volume and served as editor and book packager for the entire series.
